At that time, there was a young man from a wealthy family who liked to flirt with women and was proficient in literature, so he often regarded himself as a romantic scholar.
One spring day in March, the wind was warm and the sun was shining brightly.
The young master went to a temple in the mountains to offer incense in order to pray for his admission into high school.
After the ceremony, he walked out of the palace and strolled around.
Suddenly he saw two beautiful women passing by.
The young master's eyes sparkled, his heart became angry, and he followed him involuntarily.
The two beautiful women also noticed that someone was following them.
They covered their faces with their sleeves and walked quickly to the back of the temple.
They walked around and walked into the Zen room where the monks lived at the back of the temple.
The young man followed him to the Zen room with doubts and thought to himself: "It must be that the monks in this temple did not abide by the rules and regulations and found these women from the bottom of the mountain to come up the mountain to do dirty things.
I am a disciple of a sage, and this is offensive to my morals."
How can we just leave things as they are?"
So he opened the door angrily.
But he didn't expect to see not only the two women in the Zen room, but also a group of monks, all holding ferocious blades and with ferocious faces, doing the business of dividing the stolen goods and gathering righteousness.
The young man was so frightened that he immediately collapsed on the ground. .
It turns out that those monks were bandits who slipped through the net.
In order to avoid being wanted by the government, they shaved their hair and turned into monks, hiding their traces in this temple.
The two beautiful women before were also the wives of the bandit leaders.
Seeing that he had been broken into by an outsider, they immediately swarmed up, tied the young man up tightly, and carried him into the house to discuss how to deal with it.
Some people said that they wanted to kill the young man and throw him into a mountain stream to feed the wolves.
The bandit leader who acted as the abbot said: "Let him live, so that he can have a good life under the incense kitchen.
I will be useful in the future."
All the bandits agreed in unison and imprisoned the young master in the temple.
From then on, the bandits gave the young master good food and drink every day, but they did not put salt in the meals, and they were always greasy food.
As time went by, the young man was fed to a point where he became extremely fat and white.
His body was almost useless and he could no longer speak.
Seeing that the time was right, the bandit leader carried the young master outside the temple and claimed that he was the living Buddha in the temple.
Today he had achieved great enlightenment and would sit on the altar and ascend to heaven.
When the faithful men and women who came to worship the Buddha heard this, they all believed it and worshiped him one after another, donating countless amounts of incense and silver.
Unexpectedly, the newly appointed inspector Liu happened to pass by and saw something suspicious among the people.
The Inspector secretly thought to himself: "How happy it would be if the Living Buddha ascended to heaven.
Why is this fat and white monk looking sad, with tears still hanging on his face?
It seems there must be something fishy about this matter."
Then he ordered people to lift the Living Buddha from the woodpile first. , together with the monks in the temple, were brought to the hall for questioning one by one.
The young master could not speak, so he dipped his finger in ink and wrote the whole story on the ground.
After knowing the whole story, the inspector immediately sent people to the temple, captured the bandit leader, and told: "The Living Buddha has passed down the decree, and today the abbot will ascend to heaven for him."
Then without any explanation, he tied the bandit leader to the pyre.
Burned alive
